Urvashi Patel, MA, PT

Clinical Director

Urvashi Patel is a Pediatric Physical Therapist as well as founder of this clinic. She received her Bachelors from M. S. University, Baroda, India in 1983 and Masters Degree specialized in Developmental Disabilities from New York University in 1987. Since then she has worked with children in different settings such as school system, early intervention, home care and private clinics. Having the passion for gait training and early intervention she started her own clinic in 2003. She has more than 25 years of experience (0-21 years) with pediatric neurological and orthopedic disorders. Since last 15 years, she has treated many cases of plagiocephaly and torticollis successfully. Urvashi is also proficient in other Indian dialects such as Gujarati, Marathi, Hindi and Punjabi.

Katharin Kaczor, PT, DPT

Physical therapist, Staff

Katharin is a full-time pediatric physical therapist at Sun Physical Therapy. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University and her B.S. in Kinesiology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She has worked with children from ages of 8 weeks to 18 years with a variety of diagnoses including post-op scoliosis, torticollis and plagiocephaly, developmental delay, orthopedic issues, toe-walking, Down syndrome, and hypotonia and is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Katharin enjoys working with children and their families to achieve their physical therapy goals in a fun and caring atmosphere. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog Benny.

Nicole McCants, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist, Staff

Nicole (Nikki) is a full-time pediatric physical therapist at Sun Physical Therapy. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at University of California San Francisco/San Francisco State University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary's College of California. Nikki has worked with children from birth to 18 years with a variety of orthopedic difficulties, torticollis and plagiocephaly, developmental delay, autism, hypotonia and more. She enjoys working with young clients and their families to develop a therapy plan that supports the child's and family's needs and their goals. Nikki is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the state of California. Outside of work Nikki enjoys spending time with family, exploring the outdoors and enjoying all the wonderful things the Bay Area has to offer.

Domenique Embrey, MS OTR/L

Occupational Therapist, Staff

Ms. Embrey has over 22 years of experience. She has worked extensively with children from birth through 18 years old. Ms. Embrey has worked in public and private schools, preschools, Pediatric Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care hospital units, as well as private therapy clinics. She has experience in mental health, developmental disabilities, sensory processing difficulties, handwriting, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Down Syndrome, and Dyslexia. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University. She is affiliated with the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Occupational Therapy Association of California and has been a guest speaker at multiple locations throughout the Bay Area.
